Budleigh Salterton Town Council meets in the Council Chambers, which are situated on the first floor of the Public Hall in Station Road.
It has twelve members and their details can be found on the link to the right.
The Town Council is responsible for the running of the Public Hall and Norman Centre in Station Road and the Community Gardens in Greenway Lane. In addition to this, all Town and Parish Councils have a wide range of Powers (things they can do) and Duties (things they must do) some of which are historic. Click the link for a full list of Powers and Duties that a Town Council can operate within. While there are some duties that a Town Council must undertake, Powers refer to permissions that a Town Council may use, if they wish, and can provide guidance as to the activities that a Town Council may not get involved in (or do not have the power to get involved in)
The majority of Meetings are open to the public, who may make representations, answer questions and give evidence in respect of the business on the agenda. Meetings usually start at 7.00pm on the second and fourth Mondays of each month (except August and December) but please check our Meetings page (on the right) for the latest information.
