Annual Accounting Statements 2021/22

Each year the Town Council's finances have to be reviewed by both an Internal Auditor (appointed by the Town Council) and an External Auditor (appointed by Smaller Authorities' Audit Appointments Ltd) - in 2021/22 this work will be carried out by Thomas Westcott and PKF Littlejohn.

The Internal Audit has now been carried out and approved by the Town Council on 27 June 2022.  The Town Council's Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for 2021/22 has now been submitted to PKF Littlejohn to carry out its External Audit.  The AGAR and Notice can be viewed below:

Budgets

Each autumn the Town Council discusses how much money it will need to operate for the forthcoming year.  Below you will find the budget information for both the current and next financial years.

The majority of the Council's income comes from the Precept which is a proportion of the Council Tax.  Please click on this link for a simple breakdown on the main sources of the Council's income and on what the Council spent its money in 2020/21.  A more detailed report for 2020/21 can be viewed here.

Grants and Donations

Each year the Town Council sets aside an amount of money to enable it to make Grants to local organisations which benefit the residents of the town.  In 2021/22 this amount is £15000.  

If you think your organisation may benefit from a Grant, we would ask that you read the Terms and Conditions which provides all the information you will need to provide with your application.
