Annual Accounting Statements 2024/25

By law, each year the Town Council's finances have to be reviewed by both an Internal Auditor (appointed by the Town Council) and an External Auditor (appointed by Smaller Authorities' Audit Appointments Ltd) - for financial year 2024/25 this work was carried out by Westcotts and PKF Littlejohn.

The Town Council's Accounting Statements have been reviewed and approved by its Internal Auditor and Full Town Council. Available to view below:

The Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for 2024/25 has been completed and certified by PKF Littlejohn. This is available to view below and on the Council Noticeboard.

Local Authority Land

The Town Council is also required to publish a list of the buildings and public land under its control.  This list can be downloaded here.

In order to achieve openness and transparency, and to enable residents to see what the Council spends its money on, details of all payments can be found here plus monthly bank reconciliation information.

Each autumn the Town Council discusses how much money it will need to operate for the forthcoming year.  Below you will find the budget information for both the current and next financial years.

Community Grants 2026–2027

Budleigh Salterton Town Council (BSTC) has allocated up to £20,000 for local community grants covering the period 1 April 2026 to 30 March 2027.

Grants are intended to support projects, groups, and initiatives that benefit the local community.

Applications will be assessed on a quarterly basis during the following months each year:

• April*

• July

• October

• January

• * for 2026 Q1 review will be in March.

To apply, please ensure that all the documents listed in the  Terms and Conditions are provided, together with a short report using the application template provided.

BSTC is supported by a small team, and to ensure that applications can be considered fairly and efficiently, we are only able to review grant submissions that follow the required process. If additional information is submitted outside the requested format, or if the agreed template is not used, unfortunately the application cannot be assessed.

Please help us to be agile and resolve applications efficiently by providing only the required information in the correct format.

In 2024/25 this amount was £15000.00  

If you think your organisation may benefit from a Grant, we would ask that you read the Terms and Conditions which provides all the information you will need to provide with your application. Additionally, please provide details of other fundraising underway or planned that the organisation is engaged in, to raise funds for this project.
