Finance

On this page you will find details of the Council's finances including Budget and Audit information, Notices of Audit and any other pertinent information.

Annual Accounting Statements 2022/23

Each year the Town Council's finances have to be reviewed by both an Internal Auditor (appointed by the Town Council) and an External Auditor (appointed by Smaller Authorities' Audit Appointments Ltd) - in 2022/23 this work will be carried out by Westcotts and PKF Littlejohn.

The Internal Audit will shortly be carried out by Westcotts and will then be approved by the Town Council, after which the Town Council's Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for 2022/23 will be submitted to PKF Littlejohn to carry out its External Audit.  The AGAR and Notice will be available below:

  • Annual Governance Statement and Accounting Statements
  • Notice of Public Rights

When PKF Littlejohn have completed the External Audit, the AGAR and Notice can be viewed below:

  • Annual Governance Statement Section 3
  • Notice of Conclusion of Audit

If you have any queries about the current year's accounts, please contact the Town Clerk.

Submissions from previous years are further down this page in the section titled Annual Returns.

Payments

In order to achieve openness and transparency, and to enable residents to see what the Council spends its money on, details of all payments can be found here plus monthly bank reconciliation information.

Details of previous years' payments can be obtained by contacting the Council Offices.

Budgets

Each autumn the Town Council discusses how much money it will need to operate for the forthcoming year.  Below you will find the budget information for both the current and next financial years.

The majority of the Council's income comes from the Precept which is a proportion of the Council Tax.  Please click on this link for a simple breakdown on the main sources of the Council's income and on what the Council spent its money in 2022/23.  A more detailed report for 2022/23 can be viewed here.
